The US also is absolutely full of these 'fantasy' houses - one of them being the modest building called (rather grandly) 'Castle in the Clouds.' It had one of the first examples of central vacuum. Haut-Koenigsbourg in Alsace is another crazy made-up "mediaeval" castle.
