These caves are very spectacular, especially when enhanced with lighting/musical themes.

Well, I'm glad you like this one, too!

How big has your travel bucket list become since I began posting these postcards, if I may ask?

When my husband died, my bucket list went with him. It felt disloyal to want to do the things we had planned to do together. And, I don’t enjoy traveling alone.

Since his death, my older son has taken me to see the Grand Canyon and the Florida gulf coast with his family. It’s bittersweet. His dad would have loved being there.

I am now making plans for myself, however many years I have left, and acknowledging my limitations. There is little chance of travel, unfortunately. I will have to continue to see things through the eyes of others-like you.

But I remember the days when I was young and able to climb down into foothill caves, climb up seaside cliffs, hike down mountainsides to explore rivers, and ski across frozen lakes. I grew up sleeping under thousand-year-old trees. There’s nothing to complain about

Oh my, I had no idea--I'm so sorry for your loss, and I quite understand, albeit not from that kind of experience, what that means: for reasons connected to my work, I've travelled Europe and the US quite a bit, and while I absolutely love visiting archaeological sites, visit museums, and stroll through places I've never been to, doing so without my wife and kids is, well, not as much fun as it would be with them.

I'm glad you get on well with your children and around, too, though; I'm equally happy to provide you with these postcards--your comment is about as nice as any, and it makes me extra-happy to continue!

Magical and otherworldly, makes me think back to childhood fairytales with trolls and various kind of folk.

We also visited a few of these caves in Central Europe, incl. the huge salt mines in Wieliczka, Poland.

Apologies I am not sure how come I only saw this now. And serendipity, once I visited your link I see it’s (what I refer to as) the krakow salt mine.

I have not (yet) been alas I planned a family trip there for my previous neighbours over a decade ago. They sweetly brought me back a salt shaker which I still use daily, it’s only of the cardboard type but still sentimental to me and I fill it up with salts from around the world (yes I am one of those, I love edible souvenirs).

Thank you

What a nice souvenir (apart from postcards, of course).

I'll have to check if I've got some postcards from the Wieliczka mines…
